The story behind Athenify

My name is Lukas von Hohnhorst.

I'm a Software Product Owner, former Bain consultant, and University of Mannheim graduate (top 2%). I've tracked every study session since my 3rd semester and built Athenify to share what I learned.

During my third semester, I started keeping a study diary. I wanted to systematically track and thoroughly document my learning process. Thanks to the increased motivation and clear structure the study diary provided, I graduated with distinction in the top 2% of my class.

Over time, the study diary evolved and even incorporated a dashboard. I wrote an article for e-fellows.net, which generated significant interest. This led me to create a user-friendly Excel template that I made freely available.

While working on my master's thesis, I taught myself to code (using JavaScript). It quickly became clear: I could transform the study diary into the app of my dreams!

Shortly before my 27th birthday, I released Athenify. Athenify is the study tracking app I wish I had as a student.

Since its initial release, Athenify has grown with a large number of new features: calendar view, improved mobile experience, study matrices, gamification tools, and much more!
